"My brothers and
sisters, as we gather to honour the Martyrs of this college, we
remember that six of them are canonised saints of the Church,
sixteen are are beatified and one venerable.
When we honour the
saints that God has raised up, it is Jesus' victory in them that
we are celebrating. He has led them to die to sin and to live
for God, and he wants us to imitate them in their love and
service. When we pray to the saints, we ask them to pray to God
for us, their brothers and sisters in Christ. ..."
