BLESSED Ralph CORBY SJ
BLESSED Ralph CORBY SJ was
born in Dublin, where his parents had been refugees. He was educated at the
College of St. Omer, and later was sent to the seminar of St. Gregory at
Seville, and later still to the Royal College of St. Alban in VALLADOLID. He was
admitted in the Society of Jesus in 1631.
He undertook his apostolic work in the region of Durham.
Condemned for being a priest, he was stripped, hung, drawn and quartered at
Tyburn on the 7th of September 1644.
He was beatified by Pope Pius IX on the 15th of December 1929.
